What I have been up to these days…
March monologue madness at morton memorial library
Earlier this year, a very good friend of mine basically dared me to write and perform a monologue for a special event coming up in Rhinecliff. I wrote about my favorite subject, my late husband Jeffrey and our meeting, our love, his cancer diagnoses and ultimately his death.
I felt pretty good about the piece I wrote after sharing it with friends so I sent it to a few “real” writers and got their take. I asked a fellow Rhinecliffian who also happens to be Joan Juliet Buck if she would perform it for me — and she said YES. Oh what a night! My friends Norm and Gina also read!
South Writ large
When your loveliest & most hilarious friend from New Orleans offers to publish your story in a very cool quarterly online magazine you say YES!
Normally South Writ Large focuses on exploring the culture of the changing South through its literature, art, music, psychology, and social patterns. I may only be eligible to be included due to having vowed to pilgrimage to Mardi Gras every year for the rest of my life. Thank you for sharing our story, Katherine.
I am having a show!
Jenny B at Rhinebeck’s only bar the Rhinecellar, has been allowing artists to come in and share their work! I have had 2 shows so far. Both were last minute fill-ins. My talented friend Todd German has had several shows (he sells out!) and the super cool Sean Bowen had one recently as well.
I have been invited back so this time I have plenty of time to prepare. I am working on a show that takes a look at where I have been the last 44 years.
